73-Year-Old Man Critically Injured In Van Nuys Garage Explosion
The front of the garage had collapsed from the explosion, but the rest of the house was not damaged.
VAN NUYS, CA — A 73-year-old man was critically burned from an explosion in a Van Nuys Garage Friday afternoon. The incident happened at 6953 N Murietta Ave. around 12:50 p.m.
The front of the garage was partially collapsed when firefighters arrived, but the fire had already been extinguished. According to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department, the resident was using the kitchen before the explosion.
The rest of the house was not damaged, according to LAFD. A Search and Rescue team, along with the LAFD Arson Section were investigating the cause of the explosion.
