Nickelodeon Seeks Host For Blue's Clues Reboot In SoCal
The show is on a search for a new host with casting set to begin later this month in Burbank.

Blue's Clues, the beloved Nickelodeon show that featured the animated dog Blue and a live-action host as they followed a trail of clues to solve a mystery, will be coming back.
Nickelodeon announced on Tuesday that a remake of the show has been picked up for 20 episodes. The show will have a "refreshed signature look," Nickelodeon says. The show will be returning with a new host and casting will begin later this month.
“With Blue’s Clues, Nickelodeon launched what became TV’s first generation of interactivity for preschoolers and set the bar for quality, curriculum-driven shows we have made since,” Cyma Zarghami, President of the Nickelodeon Group, said in a press release. “The new, modern version of Blue’s Clues will capture all the original’s creativity and visual identity for a whole new audience ready for its fun adventures and expertly designed problem-solving curriculum.”

An open call for casting for a new host will be held in Burbank on April 14. Nickelodeon says it is looking for men and women who can play between 18 to 25 years old. Anyone interested in trying out must be 18 or older. (You can find more information on the casting call here.)
Steve Burns, the show's most memorable host, left the series in 2002. When he departed the show, some speculated that Burns had died. Burns, however, is very much alive and both his Instagram and Twitter handle, fittingly, is @SteveBurnsAlive. In an interview with The Huffington Post explaining why he left, Burns said he left because "it was just simply time to go."
