Brush Fire At Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area Extinguished

LAFD said the fire burned about an acre of grass.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A brush fire burned about an acre of grass at Sepulveda Basin. The fire started around 2:08 p.m. near 16900 W Victory Blvd. according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD stopped forward progress of the fire around 3:20 p.m. with 48 firefighters attacking the fire. Humphrey said the fire was mostly wind-driven wildland northeast of Lake Balboa.

A full knockdown was called at 3:33 p.m. No injuries or damaged buildings were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
