Chinese Restaurants Open On Xmas

You may recall during the  senate confirmation hearings for Elena Kagen who was  nominated to fill a vacancy on the United States Supreme Court, Ms. Kagen was asked the following  question by Senator Lindsay Graham: "What did you do last Christmas ?"

For a moment Ms. Kagen looked a bit confused then she smiled and answered, "Well like most Jews on Christmas, I was probably at a Chinese restaurant."

Everyone in the room cracked up laughing.

Actually, many people-not just Jewish people- head out for Chinese food on Christmas day. Maybe its because many of these restaurants are open on Christmas  and the cuisine is a nice break from traditional holiday fare.
