Do You Know Your Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council Candidates?

With election day rapidly approaching, the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council will hold a candidate forum on April 12.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — With neighborhood council elections approaching, the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council wants to facilitate a space for residents to get to know their candidates. SONC will hold an online meeting at 6:30 on April 12 to introduce the candidates and facilitate discussion.

This year's elections will be held entirely by mail due to the pandemic. Ballot applications must be received by May 4 at 5 p.m, and must be postmarked by May 11.

Residents who want to vote must first determine their area, as determined by this map of the SONC area boundaries. Those who live and work in different areas within Sherman Oaks must choose one location for voting.

Voters should then register for a ballot at the vote-by-mail application portal, and submit documentation validating their stake in the community.

Along with business, community interest and resident representatives, SONC is looking for nominations for the youth representative position, which is reserved for a high schooler who lives or attends school in Sherman Oaks. Eligible candidates must be between 14-17 years old on Election day (May 11), and would hold the position from July 1st through June 30th.
