Famed Local Leaders Unite Behind Hertzberg’s State Senate Bid

Collecting two more significant endorsements in his quest to represent the San Fernando Valley in the State Senate, today Bob Hertzberg picked up the support of Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe and former Los Angeles City Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski.

“California needs more pragmatic and courageous lawmakers in the Capitol,” said Knabe. “That’s why I’m supporting Bob Hertzberg for the State Senate. He’s always been someone who isn’t afraid to work with competing interests or think outside the box. He genuinely cares about our state and the residents who live here. I strongly believe that Californians will be better off with Bob in the State Senate. I’m proud to endorse him.”

Knabe’s endorsement marks the third member of the L.A. County Board of Supervisors supporting Hertzberg’s campaign. In addition to Knabe, both L.A. County Supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky and Mark Ridley-Thomas are supporting Hertzberg.

“Bob’s larger-than-life personality, his honed political skills, and his unmatched knowledge of California’s deeply complex state government makes him well qualified to serve in the State Senate,” said Miscikowski. “Since leaving office, he’s continued striving to transform our state so that it works better. His efforts to change the redistricting laws, institute open primaries, and modify the state’s budget process have eased the gridlock and improved our state’s ability to function properly. I firmly believe he’ll be a terrific addition to the State Senate. I’m happy to support him.”

“Don and Cindy have done so much for Southern California residents over the years,” said Hertzberg. “They’re both exceptional public servants and I sincerely appreciate their support.”  

In recent weeks, Hertzberg also announced that he raised a sizable $400,000 in roughly two months since formally entering the race. He also just launched his new campaign website, at www.hertzbergforsenate.com.
