Fatal Apartment Shooting In Van Nuys, Suspects At-Large

Investigators said an argument broke out during a party at the apartment, which led to the shooting.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for information on a fatal shooting that took place at a Van Nuys apartment complex on Saturday night.

The shooting was reported at 10:09 p.m. on February 6 around 13700 Vanowen St. Officers found a victim on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, who was taken to a hospital by paramedics.

Witnesses at the scene signaled officers to the third floor, where another victim with several wounds was unconscious in the hallway. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.

According to investigators, the incident stemmed from a party at the apartment complex. An argument broke out between two guests, and shots were eventually fired.

The victim was described only as a Hispanic man around 40 years old. Details on the other victim who was taken to the hospital weren't immediately available.
