Final Meeting on Supervisorial Districts

The debate over new supervisoral districts continues on Tuesday.

This may be the last chance for citizens to weigh in on the districts to be drawn by the Board of Supervisors.

A message from Sherman Oaks Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky:

On Tuesday, September 27, the Board of Supervisors will hold its final hearing on the decennial redistricting of L.A. County's supervisorial districts at 9:30 a.m. in the downtown Hall of Administration. At the hearing’s conclusion, the board will deliberate and decide among three competing redistricting proposals.

It is my firm belief that the supervisors can meet all the requirements of the landmark federal Voting Rights Act without significantly dividing cities and communities of interest, as two of the proposed plans would do. Whatever your views, I hope you can join us on Tuesday, or be a part of this historic session by tuning in to the board’s live webcast. Thanks for reading, and feel free to contact me at zev@bos.lacounty.gov.
