Fire Breaks Out At Sherman Oaks Apartment Complex Friday Morning

The flames sprang up in the kitchen area of a first floor unit, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A fire that broke out at a Sherman Oaks apartment complex was quickly extinguished Friday morning. The fire sprang up in the kitchen area of a first floor apartment unit at 5050 N Sepulveda Boulevard around 10:01 a.m.

Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said fire sprinklers held the flames in check while firefighters made their way to the building. The first arriving 22 firefighters guided residents to safety while other personal worked to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.
