Man Killed In Domestic Violence Incident, Suspect Arrested
Police say the suspect fled the scene but was arrested shortly after near his home.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A man was arrested Tuesday after police and witnesses say he killed another man during a domestic violence incident in Van Nuys.
Police said the crime took place shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the 8100 block of Langdon Avenue. Officers responded to a radio call of assault with a deadly weapon, and discovered the victim dead on the floor behind the door of the apartment on arrival.
The victim had suffered multiple blunt force traumatic injuries, police said.

Witnesses provided the suspect's identity and gave eyewitness accounts of what led to the victim's death. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but was later arrested at his home near the 6700 block of Havenhurst Ave.
An initial investigation revealed the suspect attacked the victim with his hands and various items around the apartment, police said. The killing was an incident of domestic/family violence according to police.

The victim was described only as a 36-year-old Hispanic man, and was not named pending notification of family members. Pedro Rodriguez, 37, was booked at the LAPD Van Nuys jail for murder.
