Mel's Drive-In To Screen 'Pulp Fiction' This Saturday
Quentin Tarantino's 1994 cult classic will be on the big screen for Mel's first drive-in movie screening since January.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Mel's Drive-In just reopened their famed Sunset Boulevard location, but this Saturday they'll be serving up more than just burgers. By popular demand, the burger joint will serve as a drive-in movie theater, with a one-night-only showing of Quentin Tarantino's classic Pulp Fiction.
Along with the movie, Mel's will offer $5 milkshakes to sweeten the deal.
"What a weekend we had!" Mel's wrote on Instagram. "We had so many people ask about it so to top it off the drive in movies are making a come back!! We’re coming with Pulp Fiction this Sunday night! $5 shakes, carhops and great food! This is one you don’t want to miss so act fast as it will sell out quick!"

Mel's hosted drive-in movies for much of 2020 and kicked it off with the iconic Ferris Bueller's Day Off last September. The diner also featured other throwback gems such as American Graffiti, The Sandlot, Grease, and even Elf to celebrate Christmas.
However, drive-in movies were suspended on January 13, when the restaurant made the tough decision to temporarily close while outdoor dining was put on pause in Los Angeles. Mel's reopened last Friday, offering burgers for only 40 cents to welcome guests back with a bang.

Like many in the restaurant industry this has been an absolute insane time for us," owner Colton Weiss wrote in January while announcing the restaurant would soon return. "In our whole 73 year history this time during covid has been the most challenging! Many people don't know but we are a family business tried and true with my Grandfather Mel Weiss starting Mel's as the first carhop restaurant in San Francisco. I run Mel's with my Dad Steven, my brother Chasen and our partner Gabriel."
