Notre Dame Team to Play in Ireland; You Can Help Fund Trip

Christmas trees and wreaths can be purchased to help raise funds for the football team's trip to Ireland next year.

There's lots of excitement at Notre Dame High School, because the football team will begin its season next year with a game in Dublin, Ireland. The team will be accompanied by coaches, parents, cheerleaders and other supporters.

The school has launched a number of fundraising efforts to help defray the costs of the trip.

"The Go Green Recycling program is ongoing. In addition, the St. Nick's Christmas tree and holiday wreath fundraiser is happening now," said Paula Sheehan, of the school's athletic department staff.

The Christmas trees will come from a family-owned lot in Granada Hills that works with schools and other nonprofits, Sheehan said. "They provide high quality, fresh grown trees from Oregon City, OR," she said.

Sheehan adds this information to folks who would like to contribute:
