Police Blotter: Violent Crimes Increase
There were 5 violent crimes and 20 property crimes during the past week, according to data compiled by the Los Angeles Times.
In the seven days between March 30 and April 5, violent crimes in Sherman Oaks increased to 5, and crimes involving property fell to 20, according to Los Angeles Police Department data that is compiled by the Los Angeles Times.
Comparing these numbers with past figures, over the past three months Sherman Oaks averaged 2.1 violent crimes and 35 property crimes per week.
This week's rate of 3.8 crimes per 10,000 people is higher than in nearby Encino, Studio City, and and Van nuys.Â
