"Making everyone happy and watching them enjoy dancing to our music," is Tommy's favorite part about performing live. To enhance chances for romance, he makes sure to "play many slow songs all about love."
Backing Tassi at the Sweetheart's Ball will be the marvelous maestros: Gary Snyder on guitar, Rodney Schnitz on bass, Tom Haney on drums, and Eric Ekstrand on keyboard. Expect the music to span all genres from rock and swing to waltz and cha cha. Some of Tassi's personal pics e.g. "Pretty Woman", "Rock Around the Clock," and "The Wanderer" are part of the playlist on the 23rd.
Over his long career Tassi has performed at numerous events, i.e. corporate parties, banquets, fundraisers, class reunions, clubs, senior centers, city parks, birthday parties, anniversary parties and more. From the response he receives, many venues have chosen to call upon him for numerous repeat appearances. In fact, his 2017 performance for the City of Laguna Niguel's 'Summer Concert Series' marked Tommy's 25th consecutive year.
Tommy has opened for many accomplished groups such as; The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, The Ventures, The Tokens, Jan & Dean, the Righteous Brothers and others. His voice can be heard from radio commercials to TV sitcoms, where he's done several voice-overs. In 2004 he received an award from the American Song Festival on his precise rendition of Barry Manilow's "I Write The Songs."
As a seasoned veteran who only seems to get better with age, Tommy never tires of the work he loves. His many successful years as an artist has earned him much notoriety and a large fan following. He is committed to keeping the early years of Rock 'n Roll alive and well in the 21st century.
All of these exceptionally talented musicians have been playing tunes of the 50's and 60's for more than forty years and still revel in the opportunity to present their forte to the masses. Tassi offers words of wisdom for aspiring artists: "Have passion in what you're doing, stick to it, work hard, and don't give up."
Johnny Seeman has been hosting these lauded Social Circle events since 2002. He finds pleasure in welcoming guests as they arrive and seeing old and new faces. "It feels like a real community of friendly, supportive people. I love interacting with the crowd and socializing. Plus dancing to some good old rock and roll is an added bonus."
"Watching everyone enjoying themselves and having a good time is very gratifying. I work hard to make as many people as possible, as comfortable as possible," reveals Johnny. I'll vouch for our humble host's expertise and skill at achieving that goal.
If you really want to engage while at the dance, Johnny recommends that women "don't wait around for the man to ask you to dance." Many are hesitant to make the first move because they're afraid of rejection.
Similarly, he suggests men "put yourselves out there and don't worry about being turned down. Just making the effort is enough to pat yourself on the back."
When asked why he thinks it's so difficult for older singles to get involved, Johnny said, "It's a huge step and a very important one. You have to ask yourself, how much is it worth to me? You have to weigh where you are with how far you're willing to go."
Over the years, Johnny says, "many have gone beyond 1st and 2nd dates and have made romantic connections that result in long lasting relationships, including marriage." Speaking of which, Johnny admits, he is looking for a life partner and still hopeful of meeting his match at a Social Circle soiree.
Johnny is thankful for the multitude of enduring friendships he's established. So whether you're seeking an intimate, platonic, or professional contact, this is the place to venture out and bond with like minded souls. Love won't come knocking at your door.
"To make sure you get top value for your money," is Johnny's mission, which is why, "Everything is included: Live Band, Complete Dinner, Dessert, Wine, Beer, Soft Drinks… Plenty of free parking." Neither Johnny nor the many volunteers receive any money. Admission all goes to food, band, decorations, room rental, etc. "We are completely self sufficient."
Johnny encourages you to "Give us a try. If you're not happy, I will refund your money, no questions asked." Reservations aren't necessary. Just pay at the door. Contact Johnny at 310-204-1240 or johnseeman@aol.com.
