Second Heatwave Of The Month To Hit Sherman Oaks This Sunday
National Weather Service issued a heat advisory, expecting temperatures to reach triple digits in parts of the San Fernando Valley.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — The second heatwave of the month is expected to roast Sherman Oaks this weekend, forecasters say. National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the San Fernando Valley from 10 a.m. Sunday until 9 p.m. Monday, with temperatures expected to approach 103 degrees.
"High pressure will build into the region through the weekend and bring a warming trend through at least Sunday," according to the National Weather Service. "Triple-digit high temperatures will be common over the hottest valleys, foothills and desert between Saturday and Monday. Very warm conditions are likely to continue Tuesday through Thursday with increased clouds and possible monsoonal showers and thunderstorms."
NWS expects highs in Sherman Oaks to reach 93 and 94 degrees Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Starting off next week, temperatures should again be 93 degrees Monday and Tuesday, before dropping to 92 degrees Wednesday.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," NWS forecasters advised. "Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances."
A flex alert has not been issued, meaning authorities expect to have sufficient power across Los Angeles through the heatwave.
