Sherman Oaks Brush Fire Contained

A fire burning in heavy brush along Burbank Boulevard Friday afternoon was contained at half an acre.

The blaze was first reported in the area of 15260 W. Burbank Blvd at 3:49 p.m., and the fire was out by 4:37 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Los Angeles firefighters contained a slow-moving brush fire in Sherman Oaks Near Burbank Boulevard.

It took 28 Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters 48 minutes to get the fire burning in medium and heavy brush under control Friday afternoon. They were able to stop the fire's forward progress at half an acre, said Los Angeles Fire department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

The blaze was first reported in the area of 15260 W. Burbank Blvd at 3:49 p.m., and the fire was out by 4:37 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"Firefighters surrounded the fire with hose lines and cut a fire line around the circumference to eliminate the threat of spreading," said Prange. "Crews will remain on scene to extinguish hot spots and eliminate the chance of reignition."

There were no reports of injuries or threats to structures.
