VIDEO: Sherman Oaks Marines Celebrate Corps' 236th Birthday
Marines at the Sherman Oaks recruiting station talk about how the Marine Corps is changing, as the service celebrates its 236th birthday.
In the middle of the hustle and bustle near the corner of Ventura and Van Nuys boulevards in Sherman Oaks, there is a sign on a storefront that says, "Marines. The Few. The Proud."
The Marines on duty at the recruiting station at 14521 Ventura Blvd. were set to celebrate on Thursday the 236th birthday of the Marine Corps, which was founded on Nov. 10, 1775.
These Marines say the service is changing.
