Sherman Oaks NC Candidate Forum Scheduled For Friday
Candidates for the Area 2 business and Area 5 residential representatives will have the spotlight during Friday's meeting.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council will hold another candidate forum on Friday ahead of the 2021 Neighborhood Council elections. The forum will focus on the Area 2 business and Area 5 residential candidates.
The online meeting will start at 7 p.m. and will be held on Zoom.
In Area 2, Jeffrey Alan Rector and Uday Shakour are vying for the single business representative seat. Stacey Segarra-Bohlinger and Alexis Castaneda are going head-to-head for the Area 5 Residential Representative.

Both seats are currently vacant.
This year's elections will be held entirely by mail due to the pandemic. Ballot applications must be received by May 4 at 5 p.m, and must be postmarked by May 11.

Residents who want to vote must first determine their area, as determined by this map of the SONC area boundaries. Those who live and work in different areas within Sherman Oaks must choose one location for voting.
Voters should then register for a ballot at the vote-by-mail application portal, and submit documentation validating their stake in the community.
Along with business, community interest and resident representatives, SONC is looking for nominations for the youth representative position, which is reserved for a high schooler who lives or attends school in Sherman Oaks. Eligible candidates must be between 14-17 years old on Election day (May 11), and would hold the position from July 1st through June 30th.
