Skylight Books Closes After Another Positive Coronavirus Test

It's the second time in the last month the store was forced to close after a staffer tested positive.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Skylight Books will once again temporarily close after a staff worker tested positive for the coronavirus. Mary Williams, the store's general manager, confirmed the news in an email to customers.

"For the second time this month, a member of our staff has just received a positive COVID-19 test result," Williams said. "Fortunately, they are not experiencing any symptoms, and we hope this continues to be the case. Given the still-very-inflated case numbers and the risk to our staff and customers at this time, we're choosing to close to in-store shopping for two weeks."

The store will fully close through January 31, to allow the staff to quarantine and take a coronavirus test before returning to the store. Skylight Books will then reopen for order pickup, phone and website orders, and hopes to fully reopen on February 10.

This will allow L.A.'s case numbers to hopefully continue their downward trend before we reopen fully," she said. "In-store shopping will not be allowed in this phase, but we will have a small staff on-site processing orders and handling order pickup, pending negative test results for the rest of our staff."

Skylight Books previously closed on December 31, 2020 due to another positive coronavirus test.
