Strong-Arm Robbery on Colbath Avenue Early Friday

Man forced to lie down in the street outside his home.

A man who was getting something out of the trunk of his car on Colbath Avenue early Friday was the victim of a strong-arm robbery, Los Angeles police reported.

"The mugging occurred at 6 a.m., on Colbath, south of Ventura Boulevard," said police Sgt. Kristine Klotz, of the LAPD's Van Nuys Division. The victim reportedly was uninjured.

"This is a case where the victim was overpowered, told to lie down in the street, and his property was taken," Klotz said.

The robbers, two men in their 20s, stole the victim's GPS and walked away in the direction of Valley Vista Boulevard, a neighbor who declined to give his name told Sherman Oaks Patch.

"No weapon was used," added Klotz. "The man was overpowered by the two robbers. He was not injured."
