SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Looking to bring a new dog into the home? A young German Shepherd who's hoping for a fresh start on life could be the four-legged companion you're searching for.

Buckley Serves, the community-focused service group from The Buckley School, is looking for a home for Nino, a 4-5 year old German Shepherd who was recently thrown out of a moving car in Sherman Oaks. Nino is currently in foster care at 4 Paws Kiddo Rescue and up for adoption.

"He is full of love," Ed Alexander, CEO of 4 Paws Kiddo Rescue, said. "He wants to cuddle, nuzzle and get belly rubs from every person he meets. He's just waiting for that special someone to dedicate himself to completely. He loves to play tug-of-war with rope toys, shake his squeak-and-crinkle toy, and chew bones. He also has enjoyed play-wrestling with his husky sister while being fostered."

Nino has already been neutered and house trained, and knows how to sit, shake paws and lie down. Alexander added the outside world can frighten him at times due to his rough start to life, and that he can be initially overstimulated by car rides, walks, and other dogs.

The German Shepherd also has a "strong prey drive," and shouldn't be in a home with smaller animals.
