Sunday Block Party: Ventura and Woodman
The 4th Annual Holiday Block Party will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The tight-knit group of Sherman Oaks independent shopkeepers collectively known as, "The Shops at Woodman & Ventura" invite local residents and visitors alike to join them for their 4th Annual Holiday Block Party on Sunday, December 4th, from 11am to 4pm.
Along with this local shopping destination's charming "Home Town USA" vibe will be the usual list of holiday-time festivities (decorations, balloons, refreshments, music, games, Sherman Oaks Homeowners toy drive) AND several businesses arranging new and notable activities:
- Sweet Harts (http://www.sweethartssweets.com/) invites kids to decorate their own cookies.
- ARC Bell Choir will delight with holiday music.
- The UPS Store (http://www.theupsstorelocal.com/4165/) will sponsor children's I.D. and fingerprinting
- No Roses Gallery will host a one-day-only trunk show featuring wildly popular vintage jewelry artist Eissa and her new collection of mid-century inspired pieces.
- Abundance (http://www.abundanceplussizes.com/) welcomes children (and child-like adults) to have their photos taken with Santa & Mrs. Claus.
- Tough Cookies Boutique (http://shoptoughcookies.com/) delights with glitter tattoos
The feature of the day will be readings from three noted children's book authors. Emmy Award winning writer Gerry Renert will read from his latest Brave Rooney, well-known children's illustrator and animator Paul Manchester will delight with excerpts from his recently published Pursuits of Whimsey and literacy advocate Caren Day will read You and Me followed by a coloring book activity.
And much, much more...
Most of the activities will take place at businesses located on the north side of Ventura Boulevard in spanning the two blocks on either side of Woodman Avenue. See the map at... http://goo.gl/Ukmq1
