Chamber Names Mays 2011 Citizen of the Year

Richard Mays has been named by the Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce as the 2011 Citizen of the Year, according to a release from the chamber.

Mays was the city’s Deputy Treasurer, sat on the UUT Oversight Committee, was a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), the SMPD Volunteer Force, and acted as Treasurer for the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society -- all in 2011, the release said. He is also a retired 32-year volunteer veteran on the Sierra Madre Fire Department.
