Gooden Family Association Presents

GOODEN SCHOOL FAMILY ASSOCIATION TO HOST DRS. JEFFREY AND KIMBERLY PRATER They will discuss "Anxiety and the Pursuit of Perfection"

Sierra Madre, CA, February 24, 2016: On Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. The Gooden School and The Gooden Family Association will be holding a parent education event on “Anxiety and the Pursuit of Perfection: Causes, Consequences, and Healthy Alternatives”. The event will feature Dr. Jeffrey Prater and Dr. Kimberly Prater from Psychology Resource Consultants in South Pasadena. Admission is free; however space is limited. RSVP by Friday, March 4, via email to GFA@goodenschool.org.

These two local experts in adolescent and childhood psychology will discuss perfectionism and, although it seems to work well for world-class athletes and certain technology visionaries, why as parents we should be concerned about it in our children. Is there a difference between perfectionism and striving for excellence? What is the connection between perfectionism and depression or perfectionism and procrastination?

Jeffrey Prater is a licensed clinical psychologist, founder/director of Psychology Resource Consultants and co-founder/former co-director of Integrated Learning Solutions and College Counseling Services. He is also on the clinical faculty at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology.
