Never Stop Growing

I gave my life to Jesus when I was 16 years old and I have sat through so many sermons. I wanted to learn more about Jesus and so I went to a Bible College. I love learning about Jesus and all that He has to offer especially when He said, "I will give you life more abundantly." Even after so many years I still feel as if I barely scratched the surface of who He is, who God is, and also applying these truths to my life.
I know I won't fully "Arrive" or achieve the highest level of Christianity until I see Jesus face to face. The Bible says in 1st John 3:2, "Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is."

I can't wait for that day! I cannot wait to no longer be tempted by things that do not please God. I cannot wait for the day that my thoughts are steady on glorifying God always. I cannot wait for the day that I love, forgive, treat others, or live my very life as Jesus would.

I have been encouraged and challenged recently through our church's study based on the topic of Worship. our pastor has been gracefully blunt by reminding our church that worship is not a therapeutic exercise that focuses on us, but focuses on God! He reminded us that we cannot simply come into worship without preparing our hearts. Our pastor said, “If you want to become holy God says, ‘Remember your place.’ Humility. If we truly want to experience holiness we must experience brokenness. You and I must be broken before God, we must forsake our pride, our indifference, we must be willing to let go of everything and say to ourselves, ‘There is but one God who is worthy of all my ambitions, all my affection, all of my life, and I forsake for His sake everything else… God you are everything and I am nothing.’ Only when you are broken God can fill you with holiness.”

After hearing so many sermons, sitting under so many teachers, I am encouraged with reminders and challenges that help me not remain stagnant in my faith.

I am looking forward to learning more this upcoming Sunday! I would love to encourage you to come and be part of our community as we all grow together in worshipping this amazing God, building community, and reaching out sharing the love of Christ.
