Our pastor shared a great insight this week about the love of God that I would love to share with you.
Our Pastor shared this past Sunday that God's love for us could be described as furious and even as a scandal! Our Pastor explained, "It is a scandal that God would look at me, and all of my sin and degradation, and say to me in the midst of my sin; Not when I am righteous. Not when I have it all figured out, But right where I am, where I stand, God says, ‘I. LOVE. YOU!’ …"

God's love for us is shared throughout the Bible, here are a few examples:
Romans 5:8 "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Ephesians 2:4-5 "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, evenwhen we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—"
The love that God pours out on us is not simply an emotional appeal but it is a love that spurs us on to a life that is free from bondage, addictions, and darkness. The love of God is a nurturing one as a father that cares for his child. When we come to realize and meditate on this kind of love that we are all undeserving of, worship naturally grows where we can't help but praise this amazing God!
