The first film’s message — “Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not yet the end.”— continues its momentum in the sequel to the “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”

In “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” the retirees living at the resort have now settled in locally, with renewed vigor, while dealing with their private lives.

Directed by John Madden, the film stars the original cast: Dames Maggie Smith and Judi Dench, Dev Patel, Bill Nighy, Celia Imrie, Penelope Wilton, Ronald Pickup,Tina Desai, and Lillete Dubey. We also see the addition of Richard Gere, as a silver fox stirring up the tea pot with his charm.
