Eight people were arrested at a DUI and license checkpoint in nearby Norwalk, authorities said today.
The checkpoint at Bloomfield Avenue and Imperial Highway was in operation on Friday, according to Detective Daniel Dail of the sheriff's Traffic Services Detail.

A total of 2,344 drivers were checked. Five people were arrested for alleged drug offenses.
Two were arrested for allegedly driving with suspended or revoked licenses, Dail said.

One was arrested for allegedly driving without a license.
Two vehicles were impounded for 30 days, and three vehicles were stored for a day.
