EVENT: Papa John's To Host Fundraiser for Lynwood High Girl’s Basketball Champs

THE FOLLOWING TEXT WAS TAKEN FROM FROM AN OFFICIAL CITY OF LYNWOOD ANNOUNCEMENT:

Papa John’s Franchise Owner Ahmad Moalej is new in town and has invited Coach Ellis Barfield and his Lynwood High School’s Girls Basketball Team to help officially inaugurate the grand opening of his newest Papa John’s Pizza eatery in the City of Lynwood on May 15, 2013 and use it as a fundraiser as the recent CIF State Champs are working toward raising money for their CIF Championship Rings.

With a promise to donate up to $1,000 for the Lady Knight’s fundraising efforts, depending on the sales on May 15 between 4 and 7 p.m. – Papa John’s busiest time – Moalej and his team of workers have wasted no time in getting to know the Lynwood community and their needs and love for good, quality pizza.   Moalej, who is hoping to line the walls of his new Lynwood establishment with sports photos that will include photos of the Lady Knights and their CIF State Championship win, is also reaching out to school principals on finding ways to reward students with straight A’s. “As a Papa John's pizza franchise owner, opening our newest restaurant location in Lynwood was an easy choice," said Moalej. “Lynwood has a strong family dynamic and sense of community, something the Papa John's brand and team members are all about."

With elected officials in tow, Coach Barfield and the Lady Knights will be at Papa John’s Pizza, 11123 Long Beach Blvd., Lynwood, CA 90262 on May 15, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. for a Pizza Dough Hoop Throwing/Making Contest. The girls will also be showing off some of their basketball skills, and inviting spectators to show off their skills in exchange for a chance to win a free pizza!

The Grand Opening’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony takes place at 4:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from all of the orders received from Lynwood’s Papa John’s Pizzeria between 4 and 7 p.m. on May 15 will go towards the girl’s fundraising efforts.
