Fight Breaks Out During Graduation Ceremony At Lynwood School
Parents fight over a chair, Yes, a chair.

Recently at a kinder graduation at Rosa Parks elementary in Lynwood, California, a fight broke out between two individuals apparently over a seat. The information I am getting is from various reports and posts on social media sites like Facebook and IG. So there was actually two fights, one during, and one after. The first one was over a seat an individual was holding for somebody. At some point during the ceremony another individual came in and attempted to sit in the vacant chair. Some words were exchanged and within 3 minutes both individuals were fighting. The graduation ceremony was stopped while they were fighting as children and other in attendance look on in horror and disbelief of what was happening.
A second fight was reported outside soon after the ceremony finally concluded. Two males were arguing and fighting with one stating "They had guns in the car". Parents, children, and family went home scared. Most didn't take photos with their teachers or classmates as is customary after graduations. The Sheriff's Dept did show up but I could not find any records of any arrests being made.
The outcry from the public is tremendous and many wonder why would anyone bring such violence and even bring firearms to an elementary school graduation . It is very shameful to bring such a dark over what should have been a day of celebration. Our youth is our future and should not be subject to this at school. Has it come to the point where we need to have armed security and metal detectors at these events? I am in no way saying that LUSD is responsible for what happen but this was a definite wake up call and wonder if any extra measures will be taken in the future. A statement was also released by the school(See photo).

One poster made a fitting comment "(The) ridiculous irony, a school named after Rosa Parks and the fight was over a seat". I truly hope that this is the last time there is any situation like this at any school.
