Fire Damages Two-Story Apartment Building

A two-story apartment fire caused significant damage and partial roof collapse in South Los Angeles Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters knocked down a blaze at a two-story apartment building in South Los Angeles Sunday that also caused a partial roof collapse of the structure.

Firefighters dispatched to the two-story fourplex at 438 W. 107th St. at 7:37 a.m. had the fire out within 23 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"The fire extended into the attic and caused partial roof collapse over the fire unit, prior to knockdown," Stewart said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
