LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1.4 cents today to $4.07, matching its increase Friday.
The average price is 3.4 cents more than one week ago, 7 cents higher than one month ago and 37.2 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price rose 1.3 cents to $4.055, one day after a 1.6-cent increase. It is 3.8 cents more than one week ago, 8 cents higher than one month ago and 40.1 cents greater than one year ago.
The rising prices stem from concerns over supplies caused by "exports of refined gasoline to more profitable markets overseas and continued refinery issues,'' according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
