Lynwood Copper Thief Arrested
Century Sheriff's detectives conduct operation to catch the thieve(s)
For weeks copper thieve(s) have been creating a dangerous situation for residents of Lynwood. Century Sheriff's station that serves Lynwood released this statement yesterday on Facebook.
"The City of Lynwood has been experiencing a recent surge in copper wire thefts from city street lights, in which the suspect(s) would remove the wiring required to keep neighborhoods lite during the hours of darkness. Century Station detectives committed a lot of investigative hours into solving these series of crimes and their efforts paid off!
During the early morning hours of June 12, Century detectives where conducting an operation when they arrested an individual in the process of removing wiring from one of the street lights. This same person is suspected of being involved in numerous thefts that have cost the city large sums of money in repairs and kept communities unsafe because of the lack of lighting. Century Sheriff’s Station is committed to serving our public!"

This was a great effort on the part of the Sheriff's department to catch this thieve quickly. Many residents had complained countless times about the dark streets and as the city would replace the stolen copper wire they would steal it again. As always "See something say something"
