Lynwood Public Works Update

Last week, the City of Lynwood Public Works crews added a big job to their weekly tasks – they repaired street damage caused by water main breaks in five separate locations (four on Abbott and one on Imperial South and Duncan).

But that didn’t take anything away from their work to keep Lynwood clean and safe. They still performed the following tasks (very small sample):

• Cleared nearly 100,000 square feet of trash, weeds and illegally dumped items from nine alleys citywide – Lynwood alleys are cleaned on a 10-to-14-day rotational schedule.
• Removed more the 436 square feet of graffiti from City parks.
• Washed 38 bus shelters.
• Repaired potholes throughout the City
• Cleared mattresses, tires, used needles, appliances, construction debris, furniture and anything else you can imagine that was dumped on City streets, alleys and public spaces.

Reminder – if you are found to have illegally dumped items, you will receive an invoice from the City for the costs to clean it up. Last week, four households were invoiced.
