Sheriff's Capt. Joseph Gooden, formerly the head of the Century Station in Lynwood, was promoted to commander and will be working at the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau in Monterey Park, but he will continue to oversee law enforcement in Lynwood, a city spokeswoman said today.
Capt. Ernie Chavez, recently promoted from lieutenant, will take over as the commanding officer at the Lynwood Station, according to Lynwood spokeswoman Marisela Santana, who said both deputies appeared at a City Council meeting to discuss the changes.
