Lynwood To Honor ‘Women Who Make a Difference’
The city of Lynwood will be holding a private dinner ceremony to honor several women and celebrate Women's History Month.

This evening, March 29, a dozen women will be recognized as, “Women Who Make a Difference,” by local dignitaries in Lynwood’s Bateman Hall’s Grand Auditorium at 5:00 p.m. The women were chosen by a panel of four judges, who read through the 500 nomination essays authored by students of the Lynwood Unified School District (LUSD).
“In the essays students were to explain why and how the woman inspired them or whose work had a particular meaning to them,” said Marisela Santana, Public Information Officer for the city of Lynwood, in a statement.

“Ten students wrote about actual women in their lives,” said Santana. “Two winning essays were about First Lady Michelle Obama, and one winning essay was about Erin Pizzey, family care activist and best-selling novelist.”
