Man Fatally Shot In Lynwood Fought With Suspect

The suspect is still at large.

LYNWOOD, CA – A man fatally shot in Lynwood had gotten into a fight with the suspect, who remains at large, authorities said Friday.

The shooting happened about 10:40 a.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of La Vinia Avenue.

Deputies from the sheriff's Century Station responded to a shots fired call and learned "that two individuals, the suspect and victim, were involved in a physical fight followed by gunshots," then drove off in separate vehicles, according to a sheriff's statement.

Soon after, the Century Station was notified by a local hospital of a gunshot victim who had died from his injuries. Hi name was withheld, pending notification of family members.

No suspect information was released.
