Police ID Lynwood Man Killed By Metro Expo Line Train

The 65-year-old may have been trying to board the train, authorities said.

LYNWOOD, CA – Authorities identified Thursday a Lynwood man fatally injured by a Metro Expo Line train at the 17th Street Station in Santa Monica.

Ronnie Solomon, 65, died at the scene about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the coroner's office and Ramon Montenegro of the Sheriff's Transit Services Bureau.

Solomon may have been trying to board the train, Montenegro said.

The 17th Street Station was closed while an investigation was conducted, and buses were brought in to ferry rail passengers around the area. The scene was cleared and normal Expo Line operations were restored around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
