South Gate Man Found Shot Dead In Lynwood ID'd

The 44-year-old was found Monday in a parked vehicle, officials said.

LYNWOOD, CA – Authorities Thursday identified a man who was found shot to death in a vehicle that was parked on a street in Lynwood.

A patrolling deputy saw the vehicle parked along a curb in the 10000 block of Long Beach Boulevard about 2 a.m. Monday and stopped to investigate, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.

"When the deputy contacted the driver, he observed the victim was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper torso," a sheriff's statement said.

Edgar Vazquez, 44, of South Gate was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner's office reported.
