Girls Water Polo Brackets: See Where Our High School Stands

Six area teams begin postseason play this week.

The South Pasadena girls water polo team cruised through the Rio Hondo League this season, and that domination earned the Tigers the No. 4 seed in the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 Girls Water Polo Championships. Brackets were released Sunday.

The Tigers host San Luis Obispo on Wednesday in first round action.

The Tigers (22-2, 8-0 in the Rio Hondo League) aren't the only local team represented in the postseason.

Fellow league members La Cañada (8-19, 3-5) and San Marino (9-16, 5-3) play in the Div. 3 wild card round on Tuesday. The Spartans travel to Charter Oak of the Sierra League, while the Titans host California of the Del Rio League.

In the Div. 5 bracket, the Pacific League champion Crescent Valley Falcons (25-3, 8-0)  host Yucaipa on Wednesday. Pasadena (15-10, 5-3) hosts Elsinore on Wednesday.

In Div. 6 first round action, La Salle (7-5) plays at Tustin on Tuesday.
