Halloween Spooktacular, John Muir Film, Dia de los Muertos Workshop

1. Halloween Spooktacular

The City of South Pasadena's annual Halloween Spooktacular is scheduled on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. atOrange Grove Park, located at 815 Mission St., near the Orange Grove Avenue intersection. Besides a costume parade and contest, the free event will feature a variety of games and arts and crafts. Contact the city's Parks and Recreation department at (626) 403-7380 for more information.

2. John Muir film

The South Pasadena Library Community Room will be the venue Friday, Oct. 25, of The Boyhood of John Muir, an award-winning feature-length film based on the adventures of Sierra Club founder and naturalist, conservationist and writer John Muir. The film, free of cost, starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
3. Dia de los Muertos arts and culture workshop

A Dia de los Muertos—Day of the Dead—arts and culture workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, at the South Pasadena Arts Center (SPACE), 1506 Mission St., (626) 441-4788.
