
LOS ANGELES - Lower gas prices are always a good thing to hear. Whether you commute to work, enjoy a travel weekend or a jaunt to the grocery store. Everyone likes to save money. A frothy top-off to the gas tank is a savory prize to any pocket book.
The price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline dropped for the 35th straight day to $3.851, the lowest since April 6th. That is a decrease of eight-tenths of a cent. It may not sound like a bank-breaker but it can add up to almost $150 a year.
According to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service the current price of fuel is 23.2 cents lower than a month ago, but 10.6 cents higher than a year ago. During this downward streak motorists have seen a 26.9 decrease in regular gas prices.
