Man Shot And Killed In Dispute With Neighbor In Temple City

The man, who was shot while arguing with his neighbor, later died at a hospital. A suspect is in custody.

TEMPLE CITY, CA — A man was shot during a dispute with a neighbor Monday in Temple City and later died at a hospital, authorities said.

A suspect was detained and a gun has been recovered, according to Lt. Robert Westphal of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, who added that two witnesses were also taken to the station for questioning.

Deputies from the Temple Station responded to the 9400 block of Workman Avenue at about 6 p.m. Monday and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Koerner said.

Detectives learned there was a dispute between the victim and a neighbor prior to the shooting, officials said.
