Modified In-Library Services To Begin On May 17 In South Pasadena

SOUTH PASADENA, (Calif.) – Starting Monday, May 17, 2021, the South Pasadena Public Library will welcome customers back into the library building with its “Library Abridged” modified in-person services. Customers will be able to:

• Browse the collection and borrow items
• Pick up holds
• Use a public computer
• Print and make copies
• Get help from librarians
• Use the restrooms

The popular Library Takeout no-contact borrowing service and Materials Matchmaker offering will continue for the immediate future as the library moves through the phases of its reintroduction of services. Library Abridged and Library Takeout will be available during the following hours:

Monday 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Thursday 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Friday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday Closed

The health and safety of library customers and staff is a top priority. The South Pasadena Public Library complies with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Health Officer Order and all County issued guidelines for library and retail services to help protect customers and staff when spending time inside the library. Safety measures include limiting capacity, regular cleaning and disinfecting, acrylic barriers at public service desks, and steps taken to increase ventilation.

To enter the library, customers must wear a covering over their mouth and nose at all times (ages 2 and up), maintain six feet of distance from people not in their household, must not have symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, or chills), and not have had contact with someone with a case of COVID-19 in the last 10 days or be under isolation or quarantine orders.
