Judith Ann Savage
March 18, 1938 – January 5, 2017
Judith Ann Savage was born March 18, 1938 in Ohio to Carl and Dorothy Gordon. After graduating college, Judy moved from Ohio to Los Angeles to pursue her career. She spent a year in Alaska for work and then returned to Southern California because she preferred the weather. In 1968, she purchased her home in South Pasadena on Avon Place.

For many years, Judy worked the night shift in the blood bank at County Hospital. After retirement, she kept her night schedule, rising late most days just in time for lunch and her favorite show, General Hospital.
Judy adored the Hallmark Channel, puppies, lime Jello, romance novels, and See’s mixed truffles in the gold box. Most of all, she adored the love of her life, her husband, John Arthur Savage. Judy and John were introduced in the early 1970s by their mutual friend, Diana Stoney, at a meeting of the Los Angeles Theater Organ Society, a club for pipe organ enthusiasts. - OR - Judy and John locked eyes across a crowded composting seminar and the rest was history. The details are a little fuzzy. The important thing is, they met and they fell in love and there was composting and pipe organ music. They were married for thirty-six years until John’s passing in 2011.

Judy greatly disliked green peas and AT&T customer service representatives. If you dared to park in the Savages’ reserved parking spot in front of their house, she would give you the what-for.
Judy is survived by her stepsons Alan Savage and Daryl Savage of Washington, the Rosenberg family, and friends and neighbors on Avon Place and at Sunrise of San Marino.
As her final days drew closer, Judy often spoke of her longing to be with John again. On the morning of January 5, 2017 Judy died of fatigue and a broken heart. Judy and John are finally at rest and peace together. Their parking space remains reserved.
Funeral service scheduled for Monday, January 16, 3:00pm. Rainbow Chapel - Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier.
