'Peter Pan' Screening, Water Infrastructure, Library Closure
Your guide to the weekend starts here.

1. Peter Pan silent film screening
Mark your calendars: The Los Angeles Theater Organ Society is scheduled to host a special silent screening of the all-time favorite feature film Peter Pan on Saturday, Jan. 11, in the auditorium of South Pasadena High School, located at 1401 Fremont Ave., starting at 2 p.m. The screening will be accompanied by organist Bob Salisbury, who will play on the school's Wurlitzer pipe organ while the silent film is underway. Salisbury will give a pre-screening lecture at 1 p.m. on a topic that should be of particular interest to organists—"Accompanying Silent Films." Besides being a how-to for organists, the lecture will include tips on what to listen for in a silent film. The screening is free of cost for those under 18 years of age. Tickets are $20 each for the general audience and will be available at the box office starting at 12:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased online by clicking here.
2. Water facilities tour
City officials will lead a tour of the city's four water facilities on Saturday, Jan. 11, starting at 9 a.m. Those interested in seeing the city's crumbling water infrastructure and understanding why it needs to be urgently fixed are asked to gather in the parking lot at the corner of Mound Street and Hope Street near City Hall. To RSVP for the tour, contact the Public Works Department at (626) 403-7240 or e-mail spwatertour@southpasadenaca.gov.
3. Library closed Sunday
The South Pasadena Public Library will be closed all day Sunday, Jan. 12 because of a planned power outage announced by Southern California Edison.
