Rams Waive Cornerback Troy Hill Following Encino DUI Arrest
Three days after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI during a crash in Encino, the Rams waived cornerback Troy Hill.
LOS ANGELES, CA -- The Los Angeles Rams Tuesday waived cornerback Troy Hill, three days after his arrest on suspicion of driving drunk, but coach Jeff Fisher did not rule out giving Hill a second chance.
"Every situation is different, circumstances are different," Fisher said after practice at California Lutheran University.
"I was disappointed in his choices, as they related to Friday night and Saturday morning. I didn't think he put the team first. I got information, and we made the decision.

Because Troy was truthful with me in our conversations the last couple of days, I also said that I'm not going to rule out a second opportunity. I think people deserve second chances in life. I think he learned from it, but I was just disappointed in his choices."
Hill was deactivated for Sunday's 14-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Hill was acquired by the Rams on waivers from New England on Dec. 31, but did not play three days later in the team's 2015 season finale. Hill played in all nine of the Rams' 2016 games before Sunday, with four starts. His 37 tackles were sixth on the team entering Sunday's game.
Hill, 25, was arrested Saturday morning after his white Mercedes-Benz C350 crashed into the rear of a big rig on the Ventura (101) Freeway, west of Haskell Avenue, in Encino at 7:52 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Hill was in the fast lane, traveling at 60 mph, when he swerved to the far-right lane and the Mercedes struck the rear of the big rig that was traveling at 50 mph, the CHP reported.
Hill identified himself to officers at the scene as a Rams player, according to the CHP.
The investigating officer determined that Hill exhibited signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication and arrested him after a series of field sobriety tests, the CHP reported. He was tested again at the Van Nuys jail and booked on suspicion of DUI.
Hill was released at 1:35 p.m. Saturday on $15,000 bail and ordered to appear in a Van Nuys courtroom on Dec. 14, according to sheriff's inmate records.
