South Pas Arts Crawl Set for Saturday

It's time again to cruise through the historic business district and amble from gallery to gallery. What's your favorite way to do Arts Crawl?

It's time again for a neighborhood night out on the town: Arts Crawl.

From 5-9 p.m. Saturday throughout South Pasadena, galleries and merchants will stay open late and welcome the ambling masses. Artists highlighted in a recent South Pas Chamber of Commerce newsletter include:

SPARC and SPACE sponsor Dive Into Art artist Victoria Arriola, who will lead event goers in the creation of a giant swimming pool collage. There will be summertime snacks, henna tattoos, face painting and DJ Zane Crumley.

Photographic artist J. T. Burke collaborates with SPARC to present his "Mission Street Scroll" project, a 38-foot digitally assembled photograph presenting over a mile of the iconic streetscape, with an interactive storytelling component that can include you!

"With South Pas Arts Crawl we are reaching out to locals who crave these events and support them enthusiastically,'' according to Chamber President Scott Feldmann.

Participating galleries, studios & exhibitions are located throughout town.

The chamber of commerce produces Arts Crawls "to showcase our vibrant arts community, with plans to hold three each year,'' the newsletter states. In other events such as gallery openings and the Eclectic Music Festival, the city has seen many new visitors.
