South Pas Library's Elevator Working Again

Representatives of the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library Bookstore have announced that the library elevator is fixed and running after weeks of repair, according to a library press release.

Patrons of the store who could not climb the stairs to the second floor are welcome to use the elevator.  The bookstore is open Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 12:30-4:30 pm and Sunday 1-4 p.m. The library is located at 1100 Oxley Street on South Pasadena.

Some of the approximate 60 men and women volunteers who staff the bookstore have served there since its beginning in 1982, helping to earn more than 1.1 million dollars which has been used to benefit the library in myriad ways.   The Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, Inc. serves the informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the patrons of the Library and the community at large. The Friends contribute their time, effort, and resources and seek to engage the widest possible community participation in this effort.
