Wild Dump Truck Chase Ends In Crash
A driver of a stolen dump truck led police on a chase from the San Fernando Valley through the San Gabriel Valley Monday.
ALHAMBRA, CA — Los Angeles Police chased a stolen dump truck across the city Monday morning in a wild pursuit that meandered across freeways and side streets before ending with a crash in Alhambra.
The hour-long chase began at about 4:30 a.m. Monday at San Fernando Road and Penrose Street in Sun Valley, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver of a yellow dump truck sped down the Golden State (5) Freeway and the northbound Pasadena (110) Freeway, and then onto surface streets.
That's when the dump truck collided with at least two other vehicles at Atlantic and Valley boulevards in Alhambra. Police took the driver into custody at gunpoint. Authorities did not immediately have information about possible injuries from the crash. Police did not immediately identify the driver.
